Lorraine Usayi Mamvura, born on the 1st of June 1982 and she grewup at a Zimbabwe Republic Police Support Unit Camp in Harare. She was born into a family of five children being the third born. She studied up to GCSE Ordinary Level at Roosevelt Girls High Schoolin Harare.

She was introduced to stone sculpting in 1998 by her artist husband Elvis Mamvura, son of the late famous artist Albert Nathan Mamvura, whose artwork was stirred through the mentorship of his cousin brother Nicholas Mukomberanwa.

Lorraine'swork is greatly inspired by women in general, the role of women in their everyday encounters and challenges. She wants to inspire other women to venture beyond the kitchen and explore other vocations that elevate and empower them. Her work has been exhibited in various places across the world.
