I was born on the 10th of June 1975 in the Mhondoro district of Zimbabwe. We are a family of ten. Seven boys and three girls, of which I am the sixth. I am married and have three children, all boys. I did my primary education at Madzongwe primary school in Mhondoro. I went to my secondary at Seke 5 high school in Chitungwiza.
As a young boy, I would carve wooden sculptures, which were great pastimes. So this led to my creativity which I am using today. At the same time, at school, I visited my cousins Newman Chikuni and Albert Mamvura, who were sculptors who inspired me, and they influenced me. So I started to work with them while sandpapering and polishing sculptures and doing the finishing works.
In 1995, I went back to Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe, to join Newman Chikuni to start learning stone sculpting. Then in 1997, I joined Chitungwiza Arts Centre. From 1999 I was elected to a sales person until today. I have had exhibitions worldwide and have sold my sculptures globally. Today, I am carving; however, I am involved with sales, marketing, and promoting other talented artists.
